Apr 13, Gabriella rated it it was ok Shelves: cookbooks-and-food. The recipes were very seasonal and comfort food-ish, but most of them were too meaty for me. I did, however, really like the little tips between recipes - storage tips, easy ways to handle certain foods, uses for pie spice, fall decor suggestions, etc. Mar 12, Jane rated it it was amazing. Like all the Gooseberry Patch cookbooks I've seen, this particular cookbook contains the tips, such as carving your house number in a pumpkin to making the season memorable by having an impromptu picnic and hike by using a thermos of chili and small bags of corn chips and a bag of shredded lettuce for a walking taco salad.

The book also has a section of cakes in the crock pot and while I've never tried that before I can see myself doing that very thing in the near future. Another great cookbook from Gooseberry Patch I can't wait to try these recipes in my own slow cooker. Everything from breakfast to dinner and dessert ; from appetizers to full meals. Hands down, my favorite find in this book are the Parsley Potatoes that now make a regular appearance on my dinner menus ever since I discovered them.
