Umdnj-robert wood johnson medical school program pain fellowship
We take great pride in the accomplishments of our residents and alumni who embody the core values of our program. By cultivating an environment that affords opportunities for our residents to be leaders in medicine, we actively engage trainees in all aspects of their professional development.
Residents focus on the provision of outstanding patient care, the development and application of a robust knowledge base, and involvement in innovative research. All of this occurs in an environment that remains committed to viewing the practice of medicine as a calling to the service of others. While time in residency is not sufficient to learn all that internal medicine has to teach, our integrated curriculum sets the framework for education during residency and beyond.
The Department of Anesthesiology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is a large and diverse academic anesthesia group providing comprehensive anesthesia services for more than 15, procedures annually at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
The department maintains a staff of more than 27 board-certified faculty members, all of whom hold full academic appointments at the medical school. We maintain a fully accredited Anesthesia Residency Training Program, as well as offer fellowship training in pain management, cardiac anesthesia and obstetrical anesthesia.
Most faculty members are actively engaged in basic science and clinical research, and frequently publish in peer-reviewed journals. Many have major intramural or extramural grant funding to support their ongoing research.
In addition to the anesthesiology certification, some of the faculty are also board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics. Read more Chair Keith Lewis, MD.
