As a child, Bonney was adventurous and curious. At the age of 11, she was the only female driver of quarter midget race cars in San Diego County, where she competed in and won over 50 races.

She was a graduate of Vista High School and later became a Cosmetologist where she enjoyed a short career making other women feel beautiful by doing their hair. Bonney endured a painful and crippling disease for most of her life, but she always leaned in on her faith and was an active member of her church for many years.

She had incredible perseverance and was a shining light of hope and strength to those around her, especially her family. She leaves behind Jacobus Jens, whom she married in , their two children, Gina and Jacobus, their spouses, Joe and Jennifer, and her four grandchildren, Olive, Luke, Ike and Nico, all of whom will miss her greatly.

Antoinette was a free spirited Pisces who delighted in living in Oceanside these past two years. She loved the beach, feeding the birds and cooking up unique dishes. Her fiery spirit has been released into the universe. We will be having a private ceremony for the family to scatter her ashes and setting her free in the ocean that she loved so much.

Judy L. Sosebee passed away at her home on June 6, Stout of Bellville, Ohio, sister Linda S. She is also survived by her fur babies, Paco, Tawny, Zoe, and Whitey. She was preceded in death by her son Derrick at birth, her father Don Scott on February 6, , and her mother Ruth Allen 11 months ago on July 5, Margaret was the youngest of three daughters, her sisters, Mildred Everitt and Delores Bailer, both pre-deceased her.

She grew up during the Great Depression and after completing high school she attended Ball State University then later moved to Washington D. After being widowed at the young age of 38, she raised their children, earned her BS degree in Behavioral Science from National University in She worked for the IRS as a tax technician, a tax problem resolution specialist, and revenue agent until when she became a private tax consultant.

She was one of the first women volunteers on the National Cemetery Committee, serving several appointments. She was a member of the local embroidery guild and local sewing guild.

Her interests included all forms of fiber art, lace making, needlework, beading, gardening and writing. She was a world traveler and traveled extensively pursuing those interests. Margaret rests at Miramar National Cemetery with her husband.

Both were laid in the Valley Center Community Cemetery. Lee was raised in Canton, Ohio where she first met Chet at the age of She and Chet loved going to the Friday night football games.

At her small gravesite service, limited because of the pandemic, Dr. She is also survived by brother Harold, sisters Bonnie and Linda, and many nieces and nephews.

Following the war, she settled in Vista, CA. In Vista, she was a supervisor with Boroughs for 25 years. The marriage was a new life for each as they traveled, made an Alaska Cruise, Zip-lined, took senior bus trips, and many visits to the Crazy Horse Memorial in South Dakota. Annie kept her loyalty to Alabama and the South and was a great mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Mother-in-Law and Vista citizen who will be missed by all. Join us if you can. Our Lord called home Wayne G. Twilliger on January 9, Wayne is predeceased by parents Glenn and Carmella Twilliger. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Robert John Fisher, Jr. Bob was born on May 28, in Escanaba, Michigan.

He grew up in Grangeville, Idaho. Bob lived in Vista for 52 years, where he was an active member of St. Bob was an avid golfer, traveler, and toy soldier enthusiast.

He loved watching old westerns with John Wayne, listening to Frank Sinatra, eating fresh lobster and drinking Guinness. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara, his children, Kelly Dani , Molly Don , and Suzi, as well as his five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. On December 24, , George Charles Fleuret, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather died at the age of 74 after losing the fight against cancer.

George was born in Oceanside, California. He was a career union man with the Operating Engineers. They had been married 55 years. George was a lover of travel and learning about other cultures. George and Kay had many adventures across the globe and enjoyed making friends along the way. He was an engineer through and through and took great pleasure in analyzing his surroundings from that perspective.

George was funny and had a quick wit. George was preceded in death by his parents, Janie and George Fleuret, and his brother James. He is survived by his wife Kay, daughters Mary and Michelle, granddaughters Angela and Kathryn, great grandsons Ezekiel and Brier, many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

As a kid growing up in Southern California, Bruce loved bird hunting, scuba diving, fishing, and riding his bicycle and minibike with his little brother, Wayne, pretending to do stunts like Evil Knievel.

He was always adventurous in his plight to make money. Bruce also had fun playing board games and sometimes those Monopoly games would last for days!

Later, he discovered his love for playing cut-throat Pinochle with his parents, sisters, aunts and uncles. He made you work hard at it if you planned to beat him! Bruce moved to Vista from Bellflower, CA as a young boy with his family in He attended San Marcos High School, where he excelled in track and football.

Soon after high school, he opened his own roofing business. To say Bruce was just a commercial fisherman would be understating his effect on the industry. Many fishermen admired and wanted to emulate his success. He had a calling to the ocean. Bruce was an impressive person and very loyal to his family, friends and fishing. Like his father, Bruce always had a story to tell; he was never lost for words and he could talk for hours.

He had a welcoming smile and his laugh was infectious. But when it came time for business, everyone knew that too. Just ask one of his deckhands! He was also preceded in death by his older brother, Pete Campbell a fisherman lost at sea and brother-in-law, Lee Stewart.

Neil Wallace Shireman died November 16, , at his home in St. George, Utah, at the age of When he was 10 years old, he, his mother and his little sister moved to their ranch in Vista, California.

His father, who was on the Los Angeles police force, remained in LA and visited the family in Vista whenever he could. Neil and his mother had planted a grove of orange trees on the ranch when he was still a little boy.

He attended Vista High School and graduated in After graduating he went to Alaska where he worked on a fishing boat. When the Korean conflict began he joined the Navy and became an aerial photographer, serving in Japan. He married his wife, Joan Sheppard, on December 26, Neil also taught Graphic Communications at Palomar College and was a union negotiator for Oceanside teachers.

After retirement they lived in Vista for several years and then moved to St. George, Utah. Neil was an avid craftsman, reader, traveler, linguist, dog-lover, and writer. He was a loving brother, husband and father. Funeral services are pending. During college she met Carl Henry Holzinger and they were wed in They then moved to Vista where they raised their three children, Chris, Claudia and Curt. Pat subsequently moved to Encinitas where she lived for 30 years before moving to Arcata in She often worked as a substitute teacher, and sometimes taught special needs children at their homes.

She loved cooking, baking, dancing, skiing, going to performances, traveling, and playing both bridge and scrabble. For years, a summer ritual involved several families camping together for a week at the beach. Before the kids went out on their own, the family traveled all over North America and Europe.

After moving to Encinitas, Pat continued making trips with the local Ski Club to Tahoe, Mammoth, and beyond; as well as a yearly boat house party on Lake Powell. She also traveled with close friends to places as diverse as China, Japan, Peru, and Argentina.

Pat loved the beach in Encinitas and generously shared her home there, hosting multiple parties, as well as just spending days together on the beach. She found great joy in her friends and large extended family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Pat was a strong independent woman, who was also incredibly supportive and ready with advice and help.

Moving to Arcata allowed Pat to spend more time with family in the area, and to be closer as her great grandchildren grew up. She also supported and immersed herself in the performing arts, taking dance classes and attending any and every cultural event she could. She was fond of her close neighborhood, and happy while tending her sunny garden. Pat made several new friends in town and enjoyed hiking and exploring the North Coast with them. Pat shared in the lives of many people and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Christopher was born deaf, and worked all his life to succeed in the hearing world. His parents moved the family to California in , and to Santa Barbara in Chris enjoyed camping, fishing and boating with his family. Bowling was another favorite activity; the Solomon family were all avid bowlers, and enjoyed competing with each other. He was a member of several bowling leagues in Vista.

Chris attended Dos Pueblos High School from , and enjoyed running on the track team. He loved scouting, and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a talented photographer and an avid reader. While attending Brigham Young University, he served as branch president for the deaf ward of Orem Utah, as well as high counselor. He worked as a technical programmer for several companies. Chris lived in Vista, CA for 20 years, where he was an active church member until his passing.

Chris had two children, David and Rebecca, from his marriage to Terrilyn Biermann. His favorite times were summer visits from his children, spent largely at the beach.

Chris is survived by his son David and daughter Rebecca Jordan Aaron , his father Theodore, his two sisters, Laura Dilley Robert , and Katherine Nelson Paul , as well as four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Barbara. Interment will be in Goleta Cemetery. There will be a private life remembrance for Chris at a later date. Dick was born at the dawn of the depression, September 22, , at Swedish hospital in Seattle, Washington. He graduated in and was a regular at class reunions thenceforth. His extraordinary academic inclination brought Dick to Northwestern University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa in Wherever he went, Dick made friends.

As an employee of companies such as Union 76, Litton Industries and ORC where he worked in compensation, he made connections and acquaintances who enriched his life right into his final years. Dick enjoyed many avocations, including water skiing, fishing, riding motorcycles and photography.

He was a perpetual student of history and read deeply about both American and foreign events. His intellect, his exceptional recall and his storytelling abilities made him a compelling conversationalist throughout his life.

Dick and Fleur retired to Vista, CA in where both lived out the remainder of their days. Their house in Shadowridge brought much pleasure to them both, and Dick expressed often that it was where he felt most comfortable. Joan Shireman died April 2, , at her home in St. George, Utah, at the age of 75, from natural causes. The family moved from the San Fernando Valley to Vista when she was in the third grade. She graduated from Vista High School in She married Neil Shireman in Joan was the first member of her family to graduate from college.

For most of her career she taught kindergarten. In , she became a mom to David. Joan was a two-time breast cancer survivor, including a Stage 4 diagnosis in the s. She loved travel, especially to Scotland.

Her sense of humor was sometimes sardonic, frequently self-deprecating, and always entertaining. She was a loyal and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Neil Shireman, by their son David Shireman, and by her siblings Gordon Sheppard, Virginia Colop, and Robert Sheppard, and their spouses and offspring. Dennis Dean Madison, A loving husband, father, grandfather, and retired chemistry teacher, has gone home to the Lord on March 5, He died of congestive heart and kidney failure at Tri-City Hospital.

Madison was born in Kansas City, MO. He was the oldest of three brothers, including Richard Allan Madison, and the late Philip Michael Madison who died in from brain cancer. In , the Madison family moved to Oceanside, CA. Madison was a graduate of Escondido High School in They were married in Escondido, CA.

His teachings were a foundation to many students, as they grew into their college and career years. Many of his students went into the fields of medicine, pharmaceuticals, engineers, and other scientific fields. Madison was not only a teacher, but a mentor to many towards students and the teachers. Madison had many interests including computers,woodworking, camping, biking, and spending time with his family.

He also has 4 grand children, Amanda, Sarah, Kaitlyn, and Matthew. He will be missed dearly by many who knew him. A memorial service will be announced at a later date via due to the Coronavirus.

Box Arlington, VA Agnes M. She was born February 17 th in Middletown Connecticut. She was the oldest of seven children born to Allen E. Hunt and Sophie Czajka Hunt. She worked briefly as a day care manager and was very involved in the Girl Scouts and Brownies.

She enjoyed square dancing, sewing, crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles and golfing she achieved a hole-in-one. She bowled until she was She continued volunteering after returning to California and did so for 25 years, contributing 40, hours.

She received many accolades and awards for her work. She did clerical work, sewed and crocheted items to be given to those in need. She and Robert returned to Connecticut in She was predeceased by three brothers, Charles, Frederick and George Hunt. A special thank you to the staff at The Pines at Bristol for their compassionate care of Agnes and to Constellation Hospice for their compassion during her end of life care.

She loved her grandmother dearly but returned to live with her father and new stepmother, Beatrice when he remarried. Jean was an excellent student and graduated from high school early. She lived in Detroit with two girlfriends and worked at J. Her new boss quickly recognized both her management potential and finance ability. Within a few years she was managing three of their branch offices.

He was stationed in England and rose to the rank of sergeant before being honorably discharged at the end of WWII. He returned home and him and Jean were married on June 30, AJ went to work for Seaboard Finance in Detroit. However, following a particularly brutal winter, they made the difficult decision to move to sunny California.

They arrived in With two small children and a third on the way, Jean decided to become a stay-at-home Mom. She did, however, as she continued to work part-time, as well as remaining active in her community.

In Jean and AJ decided to enter the world of self-employment. Shortly after opening their new store, the City of Norwalk announced that they would be starting a major redevelopment and with street widening projects under way, they quickly found that customers could not reach their store. With an estimated date of several years away they decided to explore finding a new location. They were fortunate that a suitable location became available in the small North San Diego County of Vista.

Opening Colony Furniture in and they worked side-by-side six days a week for over 30 years. Jean continued to be active in her community. AJ and Jean were involved in the first redevelopment project. Holding many offices in the club including President.

In addition to work, community and volunteer activities they loved to travel. They were members of the Bounder Unlimited and Thousand Trails. Their grandchildren were fortunate to travel with them. Grandma taught them all to play cribbage. Jean cherished her friends, customers, fellow club members and travel buddies, but most of all she cherished her family. Jean was a loving wife for 54 years, a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, AJ, her brothers Bud and Bob, her son-n-law Cliff and her grand daughter Cassandra. She is survived by her sister Karen of Westbranch, MI.. Both Jan and AJ came from large families, and she is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins throughout Michigan and California. Ernest was the first born of ten children to Charles and Louise Follis. He grew up in Norwalk, California. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy and Carol, and two brothers, Bobby and Clyde.

He is also survived by two sons, Jim and Ken, from his first wife. And three great grandchildren; Wade, Natalie, and Gavin. He liked restoring cars and even a couple of airplanes which he flew.

He enjoyed golf, service clubs such as Cosmopolitan when in Costa Mesa. He was an organizing director of a bank, but most of all he loved cars and all related to collecting, restoring and showing cars, at Pierce Arrow meets and even at Pebble Beach where he won awards. His car hobby included the constant search for and the fabrication of parts. The search was wherever he was and that meant often traveling across the country to swap meets in search of bargains which he could not pass up.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Orilla M. Lindy served in the U. Marine Corps. Lindy received an honorable discharge from the U. Naval Reserves November 3, , with the rank of Yeoman 3 rd Class. They welcomed a daughter, Susan, in Lindy lived in Carlsbad until moving to Mesa, AZ in She returned to Carlsbad and Oceanside in She sang and danced with various performing groups and traveled the world.

Lindy was preceded in death by her husband Top, her parents, and her siblings. She enjoyed bicycling, swimming in the warm tropical weather during her youth. In her early teens, during WWII, she survived 4 years in a prison camp.

After the war and hoping for a better life for her husband, Frederick and three children, John, Loretta and Perry moved to Holland. With a continued desire to give the family better opportunities, the family journeyed west to California, their final destination. Our mother was smart, strong and worked hard for many years at Hughes Aircraft while raising four children the best she and our father could do.

She made memories and travelled to favorite places such as Australia, Spain, Greece, Holland, Florida and many trips to all the islands of Hawaii.

She enjoyed her life to the fullest through simple pleasures, swimming in the ocean, coffee while watching the Hawaiian sunrise, nearby drives to Doggie Beach, lunch at the beach to watch all the ocean activities, spending time with family, talk with dear friends, and visit with favorite neighbors at Leisure World. We are forever grateful to our parents for all of their sacrifices.

Their sacrifices gave us opportunities they never had. Both of our parents will forever be in our hearts. She is survived by her four children, John, Loretta, Perry, and Lisa, their spouses, seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Linda grew up in Southern California. While raising her family she worked as a secretary in the medical field, and moved to Vista, CA in Linda loved square dancing, camping and traveling with family and friends. Her grandkids were the light of her life, she loved spending time with them teaching her crafts, painting, sewing, cooking and sharing stories.

Her talent and skills were extraordinary. Melrose Drive, Vista CA The family moved to California in , where she later met William Huntington Jr. She was devoted to her family. Tisha graduated from Grossmont College with a degree in Respiratory Therapy.

She was a vital part of writing the Pulmonary Rehab programs and getting the insurance industry to recognize it. She eventually retired from UCSD, but her love of medicine was never far from her heart. She married Peter Bullock in , a father of 2 children: Robert and Angie, and her adventures truly began. They traveled the world together. She made memories scuba diving in Belize, snorkeling in Hawaii and zip lining in Costa Rica.

She loved to travel, especially family trips to Baja. It was there that she was actively involved with the Flying Samaritans, coordinating and providing medical care.

She had open arms, a giving heart and a stubborn streak a mile long. You could always expect honesty from her. She loved being both a mom and grandma. She was Galaxy Grandma to her grandkids.

She loved gardening, flower arranging, art, music and her animals. Central in her life was her faith in Jesus Christ. Her church family were important to her. Her faith was her rock. She is now an angel having truly earned her wings. She will be missed beyond words. Johnson, 69, died in May at his residence. Steve was born December 5, Steve was the son of Charles C.

Steve was a dedicated father and is survived by his son, Ryan Charles Johnson, his wife, Robin and 3 beautiful grandchildren, Addison, Wyatt and Austin Johnson. Steve served in the Vietnam War. Steve voluntarily signed up for US Army to risk his life and fight for this great country in June to show his patriotism. Steve is a Military Veteran. He loved scuba diving with his son, Ryan in Tahiti and Jamaica. As a teenager, he loved surfing at Carlsbad beaches and riding motorcycles. John D. Gross — John died September 6, in his home in Vista. John was a member of AA and celebrated his 36th year of sobriety earlier this year. In those years he sponsored and helped many recovering alcoholics.

He also had a love of cats and race cars, especially Formula One race cars. He will deeply be missed. Chauny was dearly loved and is survived by Parents, Dennis Connealy, and Kathy Reynal, Colton Marmon son , Jesse Brummel husband and siblings, Michael Connealy brother and Connie Kressin sister and many aunts and uncles, cousins and nephews.

Her complete and limitless love always, is for her son and only child Colton Daniel Marmon, her heart, whom she was so extremely proud of for the man he is and has become.

Her loving family was also very important to her. Always grateful and with such grace, Chauny was our prayer leader at all our family gatherings, an inspiration, not just because of her faith, but how she lived her life.

Equally, her soul mate with no doubt, was her husband Jesse Brummel. Just looking at that special smile she gave when she was with him, or speaking about him, was such a treasure. He brought her so much joy and love in the short time that they were given.

She attended Orange Coast College and began working for electronics companies on the assembly lines. She married the love of her life, Manuel Juarez on August 9, and had one daughter, Denise three years later.

When not building for others, Celia supported Manuel through many home renovation projects, even through the construction of one of their personal homes from the ground up. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Denise, her son-in-law Greg and her only granddaughter, Delaney.

VISTA — A loving and incomparable wife, mother, aunt, colleague, and friend, Frances Jensen died peacefully on June 30, after bravely battling cancer. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Robert Jensen. Fran is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Jensen and Karen Lindstrom. Fran was a voracious reader and world traveler 42 countries spanning five continents.

She was always planning her next great adventure and quickly made new friends regaling them with her travel stories. She will be remembered for her infectious enthusiasm, sense of adventure, dedication to helping others, work ethic, friendship, and her faith.

Fran was an inspiration to others with her exemplary record of community service and civic leadership. A service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, E. Strong, independent, cheerful, friendly, and caring, Leanor was always looking to do good and always with optimism and a sense of humor. Clem lived and attended school in Vista, California for the majority of his life. He retired in June He later took interest in his genealogy and began to trace his ancestry, something he took great pride in. Clem was a foodie and always knew where to find the best restaurants and if you were ever lost, he knew every back-road for miles.

He found pleasure cruising around in the car, spending quality time with his wife Helen. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy and they will always find happiness in his memory. Clem would make his daily rounds and call his family and friends. We will miss Clem and the endless stories he would tell.

Clem had a great sense of humor and gave just about everyone a nickname, something we all treasured about him. Clem was a mentor to many and will be remembered for his easy-going nature, generosity, and sincere desire to help people.

There is no one like Clem and we were blessed to know such a great man, he will be missed dearly. Lee and Jerri married in , and together, raised five children. While visiting her family in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Gail passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, due to complications of pancreatic cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Moss. Gail was 78 years old. As a child, she spent much of her time helping her father at, Wolverine Gear, a timing gear manufacturer, which he owned and operated.

She was eventually recognized for her talents in the kitchen, earning first place in the Ontario National Chill Cookoff and representing them in the international chili competition where she awarded. In her later years, Gail purchased a home in Rockport, Maine and for approximately 10 years, split her time between California and Maine.

She enjoyed going on long walks and started a walking group with her dear friends in Rockport ME. She was preceded by husbands Robert Bartlebaugh and Donald Moss. Doug was born December 26, in Sierra Madre, California and died at home surrounded by his family. Doug was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Beverly Edwards.

He met the love of his life, Carolyn June Sorrell at Midway City Nazarene Church where they were married July 1, and were separated only by death. They started their family in Huntington Beach California, and then moved to Vista California in where they raised their family. Doug worked as a department manager of a retailer, fleet sales manager in the auto industry, business owner with Ramona Water Company, and assistant to Bill Gates in Fairbanks Ranch, California.

Doug loved God, family, outdoor activities including camping, hiking, cycling, tennis, bad mitten, tossing a Frisbee, leisurely walks, motorcycle rides, swimming, outdoor games and day trips. He made everyday life fun and adventurous. Always positive and uplifting and never a harsh word, Doug led his family with amazing leadership, loyalty, strength, generosity, compassion and love. He built many, many friendships through the years which were kept strong to the end. Doug was involved in the community and his church including sharing his musical talents on a regular basis.

Judy Alexander Skjegstad passed away peacefully at home with her family on November 2, She succumbed after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She had one daughter, Tammy. Judy resided in Vista and Fallbrook all of her life. Judy was known to all as the kindest person you would ever meet.

She was the rock and foundation of her family and was a strong gentle soul. She was loved by all who knew her and is greatly missed. Judy is survived by her husband of 48 years, Steve Skjegstad of Fallbrook, daughter Tammy Eperson, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Dode lived in Fallbrook for 90 years. He graduated from Fallbrook High School in After completing his service in , Dode and lifelong friend, Dwight Harding, traveled to Oregon to work briefly in the logging industry.

Dode returned to Fallbrook and worked for the civil service on Camp Pendleton Military Base as a plasterer. On nights and weekends, Dode spent his time working on cars and developed a lifelong passion for drag racing, which he then turned into a successful, worldwide business known as Dragmaster Company.

Dode enjoyed being an active member of the Fallbrook community and dedicated many hours to the Fallbrook Historical Society. In addition to the many hours spent working on cars and giving back to the community, Dode and his wife Muggins also co-founded the Grand Tradition in Fallbrook. Dode was a mentor to many and will be remembered for his easy-going nature, generosity, and sincere desire to help people.

It was there she met her future husband, Jack Webb, who was recently discharged from the Navy. After raising their children, Joanie worked as a bookkeeper for Flag Mart in Vista. Jack predeceased Joan in She was accomplished in several media, including ceramics, oil and watercolor painting, and, for the last 25 years, in creating miniature houses and crafts.

Many of her projects became gifts to friends and are deeply treasured by the recipients. This group of friends continued their close friendship for six decades through dances, monthly house parties, family camping trips, birthday celebrations, and all other excuses for a party. It was a very special and unique friendship which Jack and Joanie both treasured. It was often hard to find Joanie at home! She enjoyed people and company in a variety of settings.
